NTIS: PB 246 399 Available for Reference At Bureau Libraries :357 pages
As a result of concern over existing and potential mineral shortages, a major interagency task force was formed within the federal government to examine the severity of existing shortages and to assess the likelihood of continued problems. To expand and complement the efforts of the Bureau of Mines and the interagency task force, a private firm was contracted to (1) analyze existing Bureau forecasting and other analytic procedures, (2) install computer programs applicable in model development and use, (3) evaluate existing models of mineral industries for potential Bureau of Mines applications, and (4) select one such model, update its data, install it on a computer, reestimate it with current data, and use it for forecasting and policy simulations and other uses.
