Energy Use Patterns in Metallurgical and Nonmetallic Mineral Processing (Phase 4--Energy Data and Flowsheets, High-priority Commodities).
NTIS: PB 245 759 Available for Reference At Bureau Libraries :192 pages
This report covers 14 high-priority commodities--aluminum, calcium, cement, ceramics, chlorine, copper, glass, iron and steel, lead, nitrogen, phosphorus, refractories, sulfur, and zinc--and includes energy requirements for high-priority primary products. These commodities and their primary products were selected for this study because of their relatively high total annual energy requirement to produce or because of the large tonnage produced each year. This detailed energy appraisal is of particular value in assessing the national pattern of energy consumption; the energy analysis includes estimated energy values for mining and beneficiation, consumable raw materials, transportation, and fuels and electrical energy.
