Multivariate Analysis Techniques With Application in Mining.
NTIS: PB 290 115 :40 pages
This Bureau of Mines report analyzes data on the physical properties of quartzite rock from the Crescent Mine, Coeur d'Alene Mining District, Kellogg, Idaho, to demonstrate the use of multivariate techniques. After regression, factor, component, cluster, and discriminant analyses are discussed, these techniques are applied to the Crescent Mine data. Three appendixes contain some of the required mathematical and statistical detail plus heuristic examples of three multivariate techniques--component, cluster, and discriminant analysis.
