Abstract
Flocculation plays a major role in the solid-liquid separation process practiced throughout the processing industry. The factors that affect the flocculation sequence are often overlooked in many industrial applications. This U.S. Bureau of Mines tutorial discusses such factors as polymer choice, polymer concentration, feed composition, particle size, and the effect of mixing on the flocculation process.
