Apparatus and methods are described for the electrorecovery of silver from silver-brazed stainless steel honeycomb scrap. A rotatable perforated basket for holding the scrap acts as the anode; a short metal cylinder surrounds the basket and is spaced apart therefrom; means is provided for rotating the anode, for agitation, and for supplying the electrolyte. The anode basket includes a plurality of wiper blades mounted on its outer surface to remove dendrites that form between the basket and the surrounding cylinder. This prevents short circuits. Additionally, a second basket at the bottom of the cell catches the dendrites removed by the wiper blades.
