This report compares U.S. and foreign water usage costs; internal transportation costs; antitrust policies, laws, and regulations; and environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations. The analysis is limited to 12 nonfuel minerals and to countries designated by the Bureau of Mines for which substantial data were found. Interviews that were held with representatives of nine companies were discussed.
