High Reliability Miner Hydraulic System. Volume II--mining Hydraulics Manual.
NTIS: De 83-010314 :114 pages
Research was conducted to develop methods for improving the reliability of hydraulic systems in underground coal mining equipment. Major causes of poor reliability were (1) poor overall system design, (2) poor component contamination tolerance, (3) poor system filtration, and (4) poor maintenance practices stemming from a lack of defined maintenance procedures and enforcement of same. Volume II is a mining hydraulics manual containing information on hydraulic system design and the selection of hydraulic components, system fabrication aspects from the manufacturer's point of view, and hydraulic system operation and maintenance.
