Recovery of Gold and Other Heavy Minerals from Alluvial Deposits: Equipment and Practices.

The potential for recovering gold and other heavy mineral byproducts from sand and gravel operations is discussed. The Bureau of Mines recently completed a study to determine heavy minerals present in the west coast sand and gravel deposits. Methods and equipment used for the recovery of gold and other heavy minerals in the deposits are discussed. Flowsheets for the recovery of gold and for the possible recovery of other heavy mineral byproducts are shown.
