Improved Bubble-particle Collision Rates With Fine-bubble Flotation.
Soc Min Eng AIME Preprint 88-172 1988 :6 pages
This paper describes research conducted by the Bureau of Mines to determine the effect of fine bubbles on the flotation of fine-sized particles (minus 20-um size). Turbulent flow collision models for fine particles and fine bubbles were reviewed. Velocity distributions within the flotation cell along with measured bubble and particle size distributions were considered in the models to predict the flotation response. The models were corroborated with laboratory fine-bubble flotation tests to verify the expected increase in flotation efficiency.
