Coal Cutting Noise Control.
Proc Longwall U S A Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 2/2-4/87 PP 174-184 :174-184
This paper identifies three basic methods of coal cutting noise control: reduced bit velocity, cutting head structural alteration, and cutting force isolation. These methods take advantage of the dynamic characteristics of the coal cutting force. Laboratory investigations and field demonstrations have proven that all three methods are effective.
