Constructed Wetlands for Treatment of Acid Mine Drainage: A Preliminary Review.
Girts MA; Kleinmann RLP
Proc 1986 :7 pages
This paper is a preliminary review of the use of experimental wetlands as an inexpensive alternative to conventional acid mine water treatment methods. Over 25 wetlands in Pennsylvania, west Virginia, Ohio, and Maryland were inventoried to determine the effect of alternative designs and water conditions on treatment efficiency, maintenance requirements, and construction costs.
