Interactive computer programs are being developed by the Bureau of Mines that allow the user to analyze the effect of changes in cutting system parameters on relative dust generation. These programs are written in basic for use on microcomputers. Their interactive structure allows the user to evaluate the effect of parameter changes either collectively or individually. This paper describes the basic calculations used by the programs and their general use.
