Interaction of Temperatures and Humidity of Inspired Air on Tissue Temperature of the Tongue and Hard Palate.

This paper describes the monitoring of the tongue and hard palate temperatures of six subjects via thermocouples while breathing hot, humid air and walking on a treadmill. The amount of change in mouth tissue temperature was used to determine maximum allowable temperature limits for self-contained breathing apparatus.
