Washington, DC: U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Mines, OFR 84-86, 1984 Jan; :1-32
This report summarizes the objectives and methodology of a contract to obtain and record data on some 23 potential or operating foreign sited plants producing magnesia or magnesium products. These foreign plants were visited at location once they were established as significant factors in world magnesium markets. Individual resources or reserves of raw materials were established or estimated, and technical descriptions of existing or conceptual operations are described. Capital and operating costs were estimated for all properties profiled in the study.
