Abstract
This paper describes the development of a modular intelligent remotely operated controller (iroc) used in different applications with a variety of mining machines. Two computers are employed in this iroc system to control up to 48 machine-mounted devices, providing a safe and user-friendly means of operating continuous mining machines.
