Petroleum Geology of Kentucky.
Shepherd RG; Greb SF
For Reference Only At Bureau Libraries :449 pages
The petroleum geology of Kentucky is characterized by shallow pools of limited extent and production, by reservoirs of early Paleozoic age, by both stratigraphic and structural traps, and by future potential. In 1983, Kentucky was third nationally in number of oil and gas exploration wells drilled, ranking behind only Texas and Kansas. A publicly available summary report reviewing the petroleum geology of Kentucky had not been produced since the early 1940's. The research in this report is designed to update earlier works and to summarize the current information available related to petroleum in Kentucky.
