Abstract
The objectives of this research were to determine whether a model health and safety program could be defined in terms that would enable its application to mines of all types, and, if such a model program could be defined, to determine through evaluations in two mining companies whether it would achieve measurable improvements. This report describes the literature and field research that preceded the model definition.
