Relationship of Underground Diesel Engine Maintenance to Emissions. Volume II.
Branstetter R; Burrahm RW; Dietzmann HE
NTIS: PB/84-195528 :217 pages
Gaseous and particulate exhaust emissions from 20 diesel engines in service at 5 underground mines were measured with high-accuracy instrumentation. The engines were checked for faults or maladjustments. The vehicle and engine maintenance organization was studied at each mine and an idealized maintenance program was devised. Faults were induced in a new diesel engine to determine their effects on the characteristics of the exhaust emissions. Volume II contains a discussion of mine vehicle maintenance, references, a bibliography, and the appendixes.
