Potash and Phosphate Demand, and Agricultural Supply Submodel.

Potash and phosphate supply and demand computer submodels were developed and incorporated into the global macrodynamic simulation model, glomadyn, which represents 14 regions of the world. Each region is represented by submodels for demographics, economics, agriculture, energy, minerals, investment goods, aid, and trade. The objective of adding potash and phosphate representations to glomadyn was to analyze the interactions between the production of and agricultural demand for these minerals as productive inputs within an integrated, dynamic global framework. The enhanced model permits analysis of price changes, impacts of shortfalls in supplies, and other long-range events or policies that could affect the supply-demand balance.
