Determination of Velocity Measurement Correction Factors and Guidelines.

The objective of this study was to establish a set of guidelines to select locations for and applying correction factors to vane anemometer, smoke, and tracer gas velocity measurements. A literature search and analysis was performed, in-mine experiments were conducted, and a quantitative analysis of the data was used to develop correction factor tables and site selection guidelines. The report also presents guidelines to select velocity measurement locations and discusses how to improve cross-section measurements.
