Sprayfan System-results of Mine Testing-Volume III.

Two underground installations of the sprayfan system are described and evaluated. The report describes (1) a simple method to determine the most economical application of ventilation for face methane control, (2) the effect of place variables (primary ventilation, auxiliary ventilation, seam height, etc.) on methane concentrations, and (3) the correlation of methane concentrations with brattice setback. The results are used to suggest a safer and more economical approach to face methane control.
