Ground Movements Near a Caving Stope.
Chap 24 in "Design and Operation of Caving and Sublevel Stoping Mines" SME/AIME PP 329-354 :329-354
Measurements of ground movements showed that a halo of cracking develops about a caving stope, extending to distances greater than 100 meters, the principal change of deformation being extension directed toward the cave. The development of the fracture zone of expansion has significant implications with respect to the caving, drawing, and ground support operations.
