The Role of the Bureau of Mines in Radiation Hazards Research.

This paper highlights the current efforts of the Bureau of Mines radiation hazards research program. It is aimed at obtaining a fundamental understanding of the behavior and transport of radon and radon daughters, developing more accurate and reliable instruments and measurement methods, and developing cost-effective control techniques. Also discussed are the most recent accomplishments and the future research plans of the program.
