Development of an Impact Rock Breaker Shaft Sinking System.
MISSING :87 pages
The primary objective of this project was to demonstrate the feasibility of using a mechanical impact rock breaker to increase shaft sinking rates, reduce costs, and improve the safety and working conditions for shaft sinking. The specific objective was to improve the shaft sinking equipment developed during the initial phase of the project and to further develop it for sustained underground use. This report outlines the modifications that were made to the prototype rectangular shaft sinking equipment that was originally tested at Magma Copper Company's 3A shaft at San Manuel, Arizona.
