XVI International Conference on Coal Mine Safety Research, Washington, DC, September 22-26, 1975: Preprints.

The conference was one of a series held biennially for the purpose of exchanging research information on coal mine safety, particularly in hazard areas that cause catastrophic accidents. The technical sessions of the conference were organized according to eight themes: electrical apparatus, underground fires, instrumentation and telecommunications, explosives and blasting, methane control and drainage, ventilation, methane and coal dust explosions, and haulage and hoisting. Some 62 papers were presented and 222 persons representing 21 countries attended. The first part of the compilation contains the preprints.
