A Recent Development in Slurry Flow Research: Transport of Solids in Noncircular Pipes.

The results of an extensive investigation of the effect of pipe shape and orientation showed that, of the circular and noncircular pipes studied, a rectangular pipe with a wide side as a bottom was found to be most advantageous for transporting solids hydraulically.
