Seismic Mine Monitor System, Phase IV Report.
NTIS: PB/243-068 Available for Reference At Bureau Libraries :100 pages
This report describes the field testing of the seismic mine monitor system--mine geophones buried about 40 feet deep over a 10-mile- square area, the amplifiers and electronics needed to get the signals to the mine office, and a central processor unit to detect and locate explosions and large roof falls. The system has detected roof falls in the pillar areas and has located blasts as small as one-half stick of dynamite. The location accuracy has been, in general, within 250 feet.
