Detection of Mine Hazards With Infrared Imagers.
Proc Conf on Low Light Levels Devices for Sci & Tech 78:34-40
Infrared imagers have been used to remotely sense several potentially hazardous conditions in mining operations; among these are loose rock, misfires, shorted power cables, overhead bearings, and combustion (both existing and incipient). In addition, the potential use of infrared imagers as mine rescue tools has been evaluated.
