This report is concerned with feasibility studies, design, and fabrication of a group of prototype hand-held and machine-mounted test instruments for measurement of electrical shock hazards of mining machines. An instrument for use in open pit mining machine ground wire verification was proposed, developed, built, and tested. This report presents the design and operational theory of the open pit instrument as well as information on the program to improve the original prototype hand-held and machine-mounted test instruments.
