Abstract
This report (Contract No. H0230004) identifies the type of mining accidents that occur in strip mines, auger mines, mechanical preparation plants, and at the surface of underground mines. The hazards present and the direct causes of the accidents were identified, and practical solutions were recommended to reduce their occurrence.
