Feasibility Study of Surface Impregnation Equipment for Chemical Stabilization of Coal Mine Structures, 4 Volume Set, Volume 1 - Summary Phase I and II.

The results of a feasibility and design study of surface impregnation equipment to be used for chemical stabilization of coal mine structures are described in this report. By establishing that production rate polymer impregnation is feasible for underground coal mines and by providing a practical tool for this process, an important step has been taken toward the demonstration and realization of the chemical stabilization concept as a practical method to achieve improvements in mine safety and production. With the prototype machine documented in this report, it will be possible for investigators to study chemical stabilization of mine structures under actual mining conditions.
