Demonstration of discriminating circuit breaker (DISCB).

The evolution of the DISCB concept and theory of operation are described briefly. Laboratory test results with a simulated mine haulageway are included and illustrate detector operation, and the effects of rectifier ripple, arcing, and deteriorating track bonding. Future Federal Bureau of Mines laboratory and fieldwork plans are outlined in conclusion along with an appendix containing important points for consideration during in-mine installation.
