The effect of CF3Br on radical concentration profiles in methane flames.

Abstract
Low-pressure stoichiometric methane-oxygen-argon flames have been stabilized on a cooled, porous plug flat flame burner and have been probed for atom and radical species using molecular beam mass spectrometry. Concentration profiles for oh, h, o, and ch3 were determined from the preheat zone, through the primary reaction zone, and into the secondary reaction zone for clean and cf3br-containing flames. In each flame, supraequilibrium concentrations of h, o, and oh are observed.
