The Evaluation of Foamed Concrete Explosion-proof Bulkheads.
NTIS: PB/246-571 Available for Reference At Bureau Libraries :85 pages
Cast-in-place foamed concrete was investigated as a suitable bulkhead material for the construction of explosion-proof bulkheads in coal mines. Foamed concrete of density about 50 pounds per cubic foot meets the strength and permeability criteria and can be conveniently prepared and placed with available equipment approved for use in mines. Foamed concrete bulkheads should prove to be economical in situations in which large numbers are to be installed, with savings over conventional techniques occurring in labor for the transport of supplies and the placement of bulkhead material.
