In an effort to assess the effects of diesels on mine ventilation systems, mathematical models were developed for emissions, dilution, and dispersion and programed for computer solution. The diesel emission and dilution models were incorporated into a ventilation network program for analyzing exhaust concentrations in all the roadways. The validity of the conceptual and computational aspects of the models were established by testing the model solutions with observed field data.
