Development of a Personal Dust Sampler.
NTIS: PB/231-682 Available for Reference At Bureau Libraries :17 pages
This report (Contract No. H0122032) gives results of a laboratory study and development of a modified approach to personal respirable dust sampling. Three prototype units of each of two designs, cap lamp and self-powered versions, of a personal dust sampler were designed and constructed. The samplers are based upon the use of polyurethane foam filters rotating at high speed to provide the air- moving pump. The units were designed to be intrinsically safe for use at the mine face and will be tested underground to determine applicability for use in the operator sampling program. The units will also be evaluated for use in noncoal mines.
