Work-related lung disease surveillance report, 1996.
NIOSH 1996 Jan; :1-483
This report, the fourth in a series of occupational respiratory disease surveillance reports produced by NIOSH, provides national and state specific summaries of occupational respiratory disease surveillance data, focusing on pneumoconiosis mortality. Also presented are selected occupational respiratory hazard sampling data. The report contains three sections. The first section identifies highlights and limitations regarding the usage of the data contained in the report, the second updates and expands overall national data reported earlier, and the third provides detailed profiles of pneumoconiosis data for each state and the District of Columbia. Information on occupational exposure to dusts was also included in the state section. Pneumoconiosis conditions highlighted in the report included asbestosis, coal workers pneumoconiosis, silicosis, byssinosis, and pneumoconioses classified as either unspecified or other.
