Cooperative Agricultural Surveillance Training. Instructor Manual.

The Cooperative Agricultural Surveillance Training (CAST) program was developed to provide training for surveillance personnel; the program consisted of 18 videotaped lectures, accompanied by outline notes and references. This instructors manual accompanied the videotaped lectures and provided additional materials for use in the conducting of class discussions of the various lectures. Lectures in the program included agricultural safety considerations, health implications in agriculture, agricultural welding, buildings and structures, agricultural commodity storage, agricultural implements and mobile equipment, electrical wiring, animal handling and treatment facilities, chemical and fuel storage, agricultural respiratory hazards, confined spaces, personal protective equipment, noise exposure and control, ergonomics in agriculture, ethnic factors affecting on site surveillance, interview preparation and techniques for agricultural surveillance, standardized observation walk through survey protocols, and field observation encoding protocols.
