NIOSH Testimony on Process Safety Management of Highly Hazardous Chemicals by J. D. Millar, May 6, 1991.
NIOSH 1991 May:3 pages
This testimony contains the comments of NIOSH regarding the proposed rule on process safety management of highly hazardous chemicals. Topics specifically covered in this testimony included allowing the use of alternate methodologies for process hazard analysis relative to computer modeling, and comments on engineering design improvements that have resulted from hazard analyses. The latter included provision for bag disposal within a ventilated hood, the replacement of a seal with one which was much more effective around the axle of brake linings, and the redesign of hospital sterilization equipment.
