Overviews of NIOSH Problems.
NIOSH 1976 Jun:183-192
A discussion was presented of a round table session that provided an overview of current NIOSH problems in thermal research areas. The day long session discussed thermal analysis, its mechanics, and its usefulness to NIOSH on the analytical scene. One of the goals of the Division of Physical Sciences and Engineering was to prepare and publish a NIOSH Manual of Analytical Methods for use by laboratory technicians in almost any laboratory. It was noted that such a manual should allow these diverse persons to achieve adequate results. Information contained in the manual was taken from several sources including ACGIH, and AIHA. Some of the difficulties in establishing procedures for inclusion in the manual were discussed in some detail, particularly some of the problems discovered in the designing of thermal analysis techniques.
