Progress report. Evaluation of organization and information (data) requirements of NIOSH. Narrative report for period no. 1, April 2, 1973 to April 20, 1973.
NIOSH 1973 Apr; :1-66
This report summarized activities carried out for the reporting period and plans for the next reporting period for a comprehensive analysis and evaluation of the operations and organization elements of NIOSH, including an analysis and documentation of the information and data needs of the Institute. The study was divided into three phases. In order to obtain the proper orientation, it was necessary first to establish a framework for the organization and information analysis. This phase involved documentation review, senior officials interviews, development of general organizational and operational structure, finalization of study protocol, and a review of study methodology and protocol. Second it was necessary to evaluate the NIOSH organization, operations, and information flow and requirements. This involved orientation of the activities of the Institute, organizational structure analysis, obtaining management information from the NIOSH projects book and the NIOSH project plans, and involved the orientation of technical information. The recommendation phase will involve the development of a plan for organization and information flow that meets the objectives defined in the other two stages of the program.
