Final progress report for undergraduate training project in occupational safety and health, Saint Augustine's College.
Saint Augustine's College, Raleigh, North Carolina, Final Progress Report, 1981 Sep; :1-25
A program was established at Saint Augustine's College to prepare professionals to serve as occupational health inspectors and/or safety inspectors, to graduate students at the advanced degree level in occupational safety and health, and to be certain that trainees have a basic knowledge of biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, and specialized training in industrial hygiene and safety through laboratory work, lectures, field trips, seminars, and workshops. A listing and description of courses required by those majoring in industrial hygiene and safety were presented. Evaluations of the program, performed by former students, consultants from industry, and staff members indicate that it is serving the purposes quite well. Several letters were included which indicate the participation of the students and facility in various projects outside the university setting and also offer assessments of the work of various trainees sent into the field under a cooperative exchange program.
