General Problems in Developing Personal Air Monitoring Systems.
NIOSH 1979 Sep:7 pages
Difficulties in performing adequate chemical analyses of the workplace atmosphere are discussed. Possible sampling mechanisms are given in tabular form. Schematics of various contaminant generation systems used in NIOSH laboratories are given. Physical and chemical generation problems are discussed. Problems surrounding the choice of a sampling medium are reviewed. The author concludes that there are answers to all the problems involved in chemically analyzing workplace atmospheres and that these answers must be found to protect the health of the worker.
