An introductory course designed for professional health personnel outlining the concepts of the radiological health field is presented. Topics include radiation sources, radiation detection instrumentation, and radiation control methods. The use of analytical instruments and survey techniques is stressed. The author concludes that this course should allow the student to identify a radiation source, select the proper instrument for evaluating the source, and recommend appropriate radiation control measures.
