Walk-through survey report of the dialysis unit, Christ Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio.

An industrial hygiene survey was conducted at a peritoneal dialysis unit in a hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, to evaluate exposure to formaldehyde (50000) used during the disinfection process. Breathing zone samples were collected using sampling pumps, and samples were analyzed by ion chromatography. Area sample results ranged from concentrations of formaldehyde in the peritoneal dialysis unit were below the NIOSH recommended criteria.
