Environmental and breathing zone air samples were analyzed for asbestos (1332214) at Grundy Industries, Incorporated (SIC-2952) in Denver, Colorado, on August 19, 1981. The evaluation was requested by the firm's owner on behalf of an unspecified number of workers. Asbestos concentrations ranged from nondetected to 0.15 fibers greater than five microns in length per cubic centimeter (F/CC). The average exposure was 0.07 F/CC, none of the samples exceeded the OSHA standard of two F/CC. The author concludes that no health hazard from exposure to asbestos did exist at this facility. He recommends the prohibition of eating, drinking, and smoking in areas where processing or handling of asbestos is taking place and worker education regarding asbestos hazards.
