A course designed to introduce professional health personnel to radiological health is outlined. Topics covered in the course include radiation sources, detection instruments, and radiation control methods. Use of radiation detection instruments and radiation survey techniques are stressed. Course objectives are to enable the student to identify a radiation source, select the proper instrument for evaluating the source and recommend the appropriate control methods for personnel radiation protection.
