Investigative Research for the Prevention and Control of Occupational Burns.

The nature and severity of occupational burn injuries are reviewed. Findings from a past study of burn injuries in 15 industries were reviewed. Recommendations and an investigation form precoded for computer processing were developed. A past study proposal investigation occupational burns from portable devices is reviewed. A proposal alternative national burn injury reporting system that would use the National Electronic Injury Surveillance System is described. The definition and classification of burns are described, along with the techniques of accident investigation. The authors conclude that there is a need for more information to establish a burn prevention program.
