The physical and chemical properties of pentachloroethane (76017) and hexachloroethane (67721), their production and uses, and the extent of occupational exposure are reviewed. Production processes involving pentachloroethane and hexachloroethane are described, and their current uses are discussed. Yearly statistics for imports and a list of domestic suppliers are presented. The nature and extent of occupational exposure is discussed briefly. Industries that use pentachloroethane are identified, and a list of trade associations, professional societies, unions, and other organizations that may be involved with pentachloroethane in some manner is provided.
