A sampling and analytical method for the determination of iodine (7553562) in the atmosphere was presented. A glass tube was packed with sections of impregnated charcoal separated by a foam plug. Upon collection, the flame sealed ends of the tubes were broken and air was pumped through the tube at 1 liter per minute. The charcoal was removed and centrifuged in combination with sodium-carbonate. The sample was filtered and analyzed chromatographically.
